Learning to Crawl

It will teach you how to hold your camera, how to control Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO on your camera, and why you should start to move away from the Automatic modes on your camera.

By teaching these aspects of photography you will be more confident with what you want to get in your pictures and it will allow you to control the outcome of what you photograph.

There is a maximum of 6 people in one of these classes.

The First Steps

The First Steps lessons builds on your understanding of Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO. It introduces the different metering modes that you have on your camera and how to use them, teaches you how to use the different focusing modes on your camera and helps you understand white balance. We will cover Bracketing and where to use it.

By the end of this lesson you will have a greater understanding on how your camera measures light and how to control that aspect of the camera much better.

There is a maximum of 6 people in one of these classes.

Walking

The Walking lesson builds further and starts to help you with composition by teaching you some of the rules and how and when to break them, we address the creativity aspect of photography and then teach you how to process RAW files. Including in camera Black and White and more.

By the end of this lesson you will have completed the 3 lesson plan, you will be confident on exposing manually in many light situations, focusing on what is important to you and composing beautiful pictures.

Run With It

Run With It lessons are aimed at photographers who want to step out of their comfort zone and try something new, the lessons will focus on one aspect of photography in more detail. Some examples of this would be, Macro, Star-Trails, City-Scapes, Off Camera Flash, Studio Style Lighting, Portraiture Posing, HDR and HDR processing.

There is a maximum of 4 people in one of these classes.

Jump On Board

Jump on board is suited to a film photographer who has not been able to make the jump to digital. It will cover the necessary parts of the camera and digital process that have changed.

You will learn about file sizes and types, White Balance, RAW files both what they are and how to process them. Various in camera changes that will help you produce better images, how to understand the histogram and much more.

There is a maximum of 4 people in one of these classes.

Your Guide

Your guide is a one on one course tailored to suit you, your equipment and your subject matter. If you feel that group learning does not suit you we will write a lesson plan to suit you. This could be suited to a beginner or to someone who wanted to hone their skills in a certain genre.
